CLASSES FOR COMPLETE BEGINNERS : coming up soon! 🧘
Have you ever heard people say “ I’m not flexible enough to do yoga”?
When I started my yoga journey, I was the least flexible in the class (really!)
☀️ “You don’t need to be flexible to start yoga — you just need to start.”
🌸 “Don’t wait to be flexible — yoga meets you exactly where you are.”
🧘♀️ “Saying you’re not flexible enough for yoga is like saying you’re too unfit to move. That’s why we practice.”
🌺 “Flexibility is the result, not the requirement.”
💖 “Yoga isn’t about touching your toes. It’s about what you learn by reaching for them.”
🌞 “You don’t need to be good at yoga. You just need to show up.”
🕉️ “Yoga doesn’t ask for perfection — only presence.”
🌼 “Start where you are. Use what you have. Move how you can. That’s yoga.”
Wherever you are, yoga is literally, for every body. Yoga is not about what it looks like, it’s about how it feels.
Because yoga helped me in so many ways, I am so keen to share this with as many people as possible, including the stiffest 😀
In January I will start yoga classes for complete beginners. If you are interested, please leave me your contact details here. I'll get in touch with you!
On Monday Nov 3rd at 20h we will have a yoga class to balance your VATA dosha.
Register here (or app me 06 33 85 71 03) with your name and email address.
The cost is 25 eur or 17,50 eur for 10-lessons card holders.
Ayurveda starts with the principle that the human body is made of 5 elements (fire, air, space, earth and water). When the body is in good health, all its elements renew regularly. But when one of these elements begins to deteriorate and build up, it becomes what is known as a dosha. Each person, based on their unique constitution, is more prone to accumulating certain elements over others. Good news is : you can help balance your dosha using specific yoga poses, a special diet and plenty of other tips 😃
Right now, we are right in the middle of the “vata” season in the ayurvedic language, which is the cold and windy season. During the fall season, it is important to balance the vata dosha (represented by the air element in your body).
When the vata dosha is in imbalance, you might notice symptoms like :
Dry skin, hair, ears, lips, & joints
Bloating, gas, constipation, dehydration, weight loss
A restless, anxious and agitated mind
Poor circulation, muscle spasm or aches, asthma
In yoga, to balance the vata dosha we recommend a very grounding practice (to be more grounded/connected to the Earth versus too much in the air).
This practice is particularly beneficial for people with a dominant VATA dosha.
Vata-dominant individuals tend to have the following qualities:
Slimmer build, lightweight
Quick-moving mind and actions
Tendency to multitask
Dry and thinner skin and hair
Oval, narrow face, smaller eyes
Appetite that varies, sometimes with a tendency to constipation
Light sleep, possibly interrupted, with agitated dreams
Lower energy with sometimes boosts of activity
Drawn to creative activities, travel, and dance
If you can relate to several of the qualities above, Vata may be a dominant Dosha for you.
If you don't know what your dominant dosha is, take the test here.
The three doshas are :
Vata 🌬️ – dosha of air and space element
Pitta 🔥– dosha of the fire element
Kapha 💧– dosha of water and earth element
To get back into good habits, and because it's easier to do sports with a friend than to go on your own, you can bring a friend* for free for each yoga class during the whole month of September. Always reserve your and your friend's spot by sending me a message to check availability.
*Offer valid until Sept 30th for new customers only
What is a "sound bath" anyway? If you have never tried "sound healing", here is a good 4min video from the Wall Street Journal about "The Science behind Sound Therapy". It is explained by a neuroscientist from Yale University how sound baths stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system and help to put you into a meditative state (lowering your blood pressure and your heart rate). Instruments used in sound baths (crystal bowls, singing bowls, chimes, didgeridoo and tuning forks) often produce frequencies in the theta (4–8 Hz) and alpha (8–13 Hz) ranges, associated with relaxation, meditation, and creativity. Our special guests Anny & Coco from Sound Retreat came to Yoga with Friends on May 24th for a transformative experience! Check out their work on Instagram : @sound.retreat.
