What is a "sound bath" anyway? If you have never tried "sound healing", here is a good 4min video from the Wall Street Journal about "The Science behind Sound Therapy". It is explained by a neuroscientist from Yale University how sound baths stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system and help to put you into a meditative state (lowering your blood pressure and your heart rate). Instruments used in sound baths (crystal bowls, singing bowls, chimes, didgeridoo and tuning forks) often produce frequencies in the theta (4–8 Hz) and alpha (8–13 Hz) ranges, associated with relaxation, meditation, and creativity. Our special guests Anny & Coco from Sound Retreat came to Yoga with Friends on May 24th for a transformative experience! Check out their work on Instagram : @sound.retreat.
